The Christmas Walk this year will be featuring live window displays. Jeannie and Jeff are going let us use their window at the Trophy Shop for a live "Optimists in Action" display. We will dress and act out some of the many events we do for the kids in our community. A few examples:
Easter Egg Hunt, Needy Family Christmas Project, Corn Roast, Respect for Law, Roller Skating Event, Golf Outing, Festival of Brass, Oratorical, Essay & Spelling Bee. |

As usual, our club had a blast doing what we do best, being Optimists. The live window display was a huge hit with many thanks to the following:
Cindy Worley and her sister in law for the awesome "Optimist Event Sashes". We will use these for years to come! They decorated our window and models beautifully! Patti Romza for finding us the most awesome face painters ever! One was the daughter of potential new member, Darcy, and the other was Patti's very own lovely daughter, Katie. Darcy also provided child identification kits for the kids. What a great service. Darcy is going to be an awesome member, she was wonderful with the kids! This was all done at no charge to the club. Face painting collected about $35 in donations for the Childhood Cancer Campaign. Patti also represented the Corn Roast at Prairiefest! Marlene Wyld and Prudie Marose dressed as an Elf and Mrs Claus, representing the Needy Family Christmas Project, waving to the kids, blowing kisses Mike Lazansky aka "GQ Golfer Guy" representing the Golf Outing for Childhood Cancer The Best of the Show - Bob Reid as the Easter Bunny, was a complete HAM! You really had to be there to see this guy in action! These Optimists performed in the window while hundreds of people strolled by wondering what they were doing!. They brought alot of people indoors to learn more about our club and activities, while taking part in some of the other kid events available! Many thanks to Cindy Worley, Patti Romza, Dave Liesse for manning the information table and to all other Optimists who joined us throughout the evening; Janis Reid, Shane Wade, Jerry & Connie Emery, Bryan Noble and Crystal, Roxana Giese, Roger Schmidt, Barb & Gary Illg, ..... Did I forget anyone? There were tons! And of course.....Jeff & Jeannie LaMarre for allowing us to have their shop! This was one of those events that was just plain fun for the club and didn't cost us a penny. Thanks to all of you!! |
